Objectives

- Apply the school’s actual AI policy to real assignment scenarios.
- Recognize high-risk uses where AI must not be in the loop.
Agenda (60 min)

| 0–5 | Warm-up: AI-weirdness shares. |
| 5–20 | The school’s policy, onscreen, line by line. What’s allowed, what’s cheating, what’s undefined — and that “undefined” means ask, not assume (Q2). |
| 20–35 | Case studies: helpful use, cheating, or in between? Short scenarios — using AI to outline but writing yourself; pasting AI text with minor edits; AI explaining a problem you then solve cold; submitting an AI study guide that was wrong. Each case: verdict, and which of the Seven Questions fails. |
| 35–50 | Scenario sort (the ethics half): medical/legal/financial decisions without verification, emergencies, sharing passwords or private info, impersonation and misinformation, using AI instead of a counselor or friend. Three piles: use it / use cautiously / don’t. Cite the failing question for each “don’t.” |
| 50–58 | Read the article’s own disclosure — how the author used AI to write the post about when to use AI — as the model of Q7 ownership. |

Key terms
Section titled “Key terms”- Academic integrity — the work must represent YOUR learning.
- Disclosure — saying how you used AI when the rules ask (or when it’s the honest thing to do).
- High-risk domain — where being confidently wrong hurts people: health, legal, money, safety, other humans’ private data.
Seven-Question connection
Section titled “Seven-Question connection”Q2 (allowed) and Q5 (ethical) — the deep-dive class. Also: every case verdict must name a question, which is how the framework gets internalized.
Homework / log entry
Section titled “Homework / log entry”Interview one teacher (or re-read one syllabus): what’s THEIR AI policy? Log it — policies differ by teacher, and Q2 means reading the actual rules.
